Welcoming our new Visiting Fellows

19 January 2026

Lifelong learning

Two headshots. Left: Professor Harriet Dunbar Morris, Right: Dr Sleiman El Hajj

Oxford Lifelong Learning is delighted to welcome two Visiting Fellows who will be joining the Department for Hilary and Trinity terms 2026. Professor Harriet Dunbar-Morris and Dr Sleiman El Hajj bring with them ample experience, insight and creative scholarship that will enrich Oxford’s academic community and further strengthen our commitment to lifelong learning.

Professor Harriet Dunbar-Morris is Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic and Provost at the University of Buckingham. She brings wide-ranging expertise in learning, teaching, academic leadership, and student experience, developed through senior roles across the UK and in international contexts. Her work reflects a strong commitment to educational innovation and inclusive academic practice, aligning closely with Oxford Lifelong Learning’s mission.

Dr Sleiman El Hajj is Associate Professor of Creative and Journalistic Writing at the Lebanese American University. His research and practice span creative writing, with a particular focus on life and illness writing and narrative theory. His interdisciplinary approach bridges scholarship and creative practice, offering valuable perspectives for Oxford’s diverse writing and academic communities.

During their time at Oxford, both Visiting Fellows will actively seek opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across Oxford Lifelong Learning and the wider University. Professor Dunbar-Morris plans to contribute to Oxford’s academic life through research, lectures, and scholarly exchange, while working with colleagues to develop collaborative activity with shared interests in lifelong learning and educational practice.

Dr El Hajj will engage closely with Oxford Lifelong Learning’s rich academic and writing community, contributing through a series of research forms ranging from workshops to lectures. His fellowship will support dialogue across disciplines and encourage creative, critical exploration of narrative and writing practice.

Details of events, talks and collaborative activities will be shared throughout the fellowship period and published on the Fellows’ academic profile pages, linked below.

Oxford Lifelong Learning warmly welcomes Professor Dunbar-Morris and Dr El Hajj and looks forward to the contributions they will make during their time with us.
