Event Overview
Discover the secrets behind the beauty of art.
Have you ever wanted to explore a particular period in art history in greater depth? Join us for a 45-minute online webinar introducing Oxford’s part-time Diploma in the History of Art.
Meet Course Director Dr Ali Bennett and learn how the programme explores art within its wider historical and cultural contexts. Hear how global interactions, cultural exchange, and empire have shaped works of art, and consider the relationship between art and the environment through the landscape paintings of nineteenth-century artists such as Constable, and why these works continue to resonate today.
There will also be an opportunity to put your questions to Dr Bennett live. Find out more about the course content, the combination of online and in-person teaching, how part-time study can fit around other commitments, and what it’s like to study at Oxford.
