Departmental Lecturer in Lifelong Learning (Political Philosophy)
After a first degree in Philosophy from Southampton University, Doug focused on political philosophy and particularly on questions of tax justice at the Universities of York and Warwick.
Doug is a passionate advocate for continuing education, being the first person in his family to go to University.
Doug teaches short courses, both online and in Oxford. He teaches courses in political philosophy and/or political economy. Upcoming courses are listed below.
His teaching skills have been recognised through an Associate Fellowship with Advance HE.
Doug writes about topics applying an ethical lens to policy questions, assessing whether policies are just. Particularly questions of tax justice, domestically and internationally. Other interests include democracy and lifelong learning.
