Students who are parents or guardians of children under the minimum school-leaving age, which is 16 years, should be aware that Oxford Lifelong Learning does not provide childcare facilities. In accordance with the University’s Safety Policies, children are not allowed within Oxford Lifelong Learning unless permission has been granted.
Permission will normally be considered only in very exceptional circumstances (typically involving an emergency), and should be sought as soon as possible via your Course Administrator.
If granted, the permission will be for as short a time as possible and only as a last resort when all other options for childcare have been exhausted. In any case, children must always be accompanied while on University premises and on no account should they be permitted unsupervised access. Parents cannot delegate this responsibility unless the children are in the temporary care of professional childcare providers.
