Join fellow students in a live virtual classroom; study online in your own time and at your own pace; or join us in person – for a day, a term, or for an immersive summer course. With so many ways to learn, you can tailor how you fit study around your life commitments.

Our courses are led by Oxford University tutors who share their expertise and passion across a broad spectrum of subjects. Anyone, with the desire and motivation to explore new ideas or develop skills, can experience the quality of teaching associated with an Oxford education.

Many tutors are working professionals, providing real-time practical insight. Others are world-renowned for their research and contribution to developing knowledge in a particular field.

Alongside a transformational learning experience, we have created a unique space where intellectual curiosity thrives, friendships form, and the pursuit of knowledge continues long after the course ends.

Our programmes in and around Oxford – such as our weekly classes, day and weekend events, and summer schools – now number some 600 courses per year.

Online courses are the direct descendent of our original extension mission. In the 19th and early 20th centuries it was the rail network which let us bring Oxford education to places outside the University; today it’s the Internet. Students from around the world participate in our online short courses – covering subjects in humanities, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and social sciences.

Over the course of nearly 150 years, we’ve seen many changes – in society, politics and technology.
