Your course culminates on Friday evening with a closing drinks reception and gala farewell dinner at which Certificates of Attendance are awarded. For this special occasion smart dress is encouraged (no requirement to wear dinner suits or gowns).

Seminars
Monday
Introductions and Exploring Text
We begin with introductions and group connection, setting the tone for a supportive and creative environment. You will explore how text shapes character and learn practical tools for unlocking meaning through paraphrasing. The day includes an introduction to vocal warm-ups and concludes with a workshop session that brings these techniques into practice.
Tuesday
Building Confidence and Character
Confidence in performance grows through improvisation and play. Tuesday focuses on developing improvisation skills that encourage spontaneity and freedom on stage. You will also work on understanding character intentions; discovering what drives a character and how those motivations influence delivery. The afternoon is devoted to guided rehearsal and exploration.
Wednesday
Finding Balance in Performance
Midweek, we turn to style and substance, balancing the precision of classical acting with the truth of naturalism. Through discussion and practice, you will experiment with different approaches to performance. The session on soliloquies will focus on bringing Shakespeare's iconic speeches to life with clarity and depth. The day ends with rehearsal time to explore these techniques further.
Thursday
Playing with Comedy
Thursday invites you to explore the wit and rhythm of Shakespearean comedy. Through playful exercises and scene work, we’ll uncover how timing, physicality, and wordplay create humour and connection with the audience. The afternoon rehearsal session allows participants to put these discoveries into action on stage.
Friday
Bringing It All Together
The final day focuses on refining and performing the work created throughout the week. You will rehearse your prepared pieces, integrating voice, text, and character work into a polished performance. The week culminates in a final showcase and reflection, celebrating growth, creativity, and collaboration.
