MSc in Sustainable Urban Development Re-Accredited by RICS for a Further Five Years

The Sustainable Urban Development team is pleased to share that the MSc in Sustainable Urban Development has been successfully re-accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), following a full accreditation visit in November 2025. The programme has been granted accreditation for a further five years, affirming its alignment with the RICS Planning and Development pathway.
The accreditation panel commended the programme’s academic rigour, intellectually demanding curriculum, high-quality student support, and strong integration of professional practice, underlining the MSc in Sustainable Urban Development’s standing as a leading postgraduate qualification in sustainable urban development. This re-accreditation is particularly significant for our students, many of whom bring substantial professional experience from across the public, private, and third sectors. For some, the MSc builds on their existing RICS accreditation and supports continuing professional development; for others, it provides a clear and credible pathway towards RICS professional recognition. Ensuring that all graduates of the programme can pursue RICS accreditation reinforces its value as a qualification that bridges advanced academic study with professional legitimacy in the global built environment sector.
