Elizabeth Jamieson
Elizabeth is an independent researcher, art-historian and consultant, with specialist interests in the English country house, decorative arts and horse-drawn carriages. She is a course director for the Attingham Trust who run intensive on-site programmes for those who work in the heritage sector, focussing on the study of historic houses, palaces, gardens and collections. Recent courses she has devised and led include ‘New Perspectives in Country House Studies’, ‘The Historic House in Ireland’ and ‘Court Culture and the Horse’. Elizabeth is also a curatorial advisor to the National Trust and has researched and catalogued their collection of horse-drawn vehicles and written numerous reports on the historic stables at their properties. Previously, Elizabeth worked with antiques and decorative arts firstly for a leading London furniture dealer and then for Sotheby’s English furniture department.
Elizabeth is a regular lecturer and speaker at conferences and for other academic institutions on all topics relating to the English country house.
