Oxford Lifelong Learning (Oxford University Department for Continuing Education) is seeking to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in Natural Sciences (Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences)
About the role
The Natural Sciences portfolio at Oxford Lifelong Learning (Department for Continuing Education) is within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) academic domain, and comprises open access Weekly Classes and Short Online Courses, Day & Weekend events, lecture series and summer schools. It also includes Continuing Professional Development courses in advanced technologies taught by leading industry and academic specialists, and Award-Bearing courses.
The postholder will have academic responsibility for the Natural Sciences (Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences) provision in the Weekly Class and Short Online Course programmes. They will also have academic oversight of the Natural Sciences (Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences) provision in the Day & Weekend events, lecture series and summer schools, and CPD portfolio. In addition, they will work with colleagues on ensuring the successful delivery of the Data Science (Computing and Mathematics) open access programmes.
They will have a specialism in an aspect of Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Mathematics and teach on courses relevant to their subject-area expertise. They will be part of the academic community of the Department and engage in advanced scholarship.
This is a 0.6 FTE position, available on a permanent contract.

We are seeking a scholar who has excellent teaching and pedagogical skills, and who has a track-record of scholarship, or the potential for scholarship, engaging with current critical and theoretical debates in the discipline. This includes issues of difference and diversity.

Departmental Tutor

Oxford Lifelong Learning (Oxford University Department for Continuing Education) is seeking to appoint a part-time Departmental Tutor in Archaeology.
About the role
The Archaeology portfolio at Oxford Lifelong Learning (Oxford University Department for Continuing Education) comprises a range of open access Weekly Classes and Short Online Courses, Day & Weekend events, Lecture Series and Summer Schools. It also includes a number of undergraduate courses: the Certificate in Archaeology, Diploma in British Archaeology and the Advanced Diploma in British Archaeology.
The Departmental Tutor in Archaeology will teach across our provision. Tutors’ duties include contributing to curriculum development, teaching and engaging in assessment and marking, as well as dealing with relevant administrative tasks. Departmental Tutors work collegiately with colleagues, sharing in collaborative decisions affecting courses and proposing and implementing improvements to working methods, to ensure high standards are maintained.
This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) position, available on a permanent contract.
About you
You will be well-qualified academically with experience of teaching and researching at a university level. Candidates with a background in material culture studies, Iron Age, Romano-British and/or Medieval Archaeology are especially welcome.

About the role
Providing a reception service for students, tutors and visitors, you will work independently and have responsibility for the security of the building. You will also undertake some administrative tasks and classroom preparation, and will be based at the Department's main teaching premises in Ewert House, Summertown although you may be called upon to carry out duties at our other departmental facilities in Central Oxford.
The contracted hours are Saturdays 1pm to 6pm, term time only with 3 terms of an average of 8 weeks, and is available on a permanent contract.

You must be dependable, flexible, calm under pressure and show initiative. You will be well organised and prepared to move classroom equipment.

Oxford University Department for Continuing Education (OUDCE) is seeking to appoint a highly competent administrator to join our team providing support for the student lifecycle on our undergraduate-level courses from end-to-end. This includes dealing with enquiries, enrolment, on-course administration and post-course enquiries.
About the role
In this wide-ranging, challenging and rewarding role, you will be responsible for supporting students and academic staff, developing expertise in University and departmental processes, preparing course materials, handling student data and assisting with financial administration.
This is a full-time post, available on a permanent contract.
About you
You must have excellent administrative skills and attention to detail, be able to work flexibly to deadlines, be confident in working with data and Excel, and be able to demonstrate sound judgement in solving problems. Experience of financial processes and virtual learning environments would be an advantage.
